There was a time not long ago, this past summer actually, when I felt completely lost. More lost than I have ever been. My balance — mentally, emotionally, spiritually — was gone.Everything I had built seemed to crumble at once.
It wasn’t just my brand that needed rebuilding — it was me.
That season forced me to stop, reflect, and listen to the parts of myself I had ignored. Out of that stillness came a realization: sometimes balance isn’t found — it’s reinvented.
This blog isn’t just about my story. It’s about how you can rebuild when everything feels like it’s fallen apart. Here’s what I learned about reinventing yourself to find balance again.
1. Reconnect With Your “Why”
When you’ve hit rock bottom, it’s easy to forget why you started — whether that’s your business, your relationship, or your dream.
Take a step back and ask yourself:
-
What truly matters to me right now? What mattered to me was SURVIVAL of my situation.
-
What am I chasing, and why? I was chasing others' dreams when they weren't actively chasing them.
-
What part of my journey have I outgrown? THIS PART. Allowing others to dictate how I my journey is going.
For me, rediscovering my “why” meant going back to the heart of Tangles and Beyond — helping others find confidence and self-love through care and balance. Once I realigned with that purpose, everything began to shift. It also meant taking my attention off things and people I could not change. A complete waste of energy.
2. Release What No Longer Serves You
Reinvention requires release.
That might mean letting go of habits, people, routines, or even beliefs that no longer fit who you’re becoming. It’s uncomfortable — but necessary.
For me, that looked like simplifying my brand, decluttering my mind, and releasing old expectations that didn’t reflect the woman I was growing into. It also meant letting go of the expectations of others around you.
Letting go isn’t quitting, it’s creating space for what’s next.
3. Rebuild from the Inside Out
You can’t pour from an empty cup. I know you heard that before, but balance doesn’t come from overworking or overachieving.
Start small:
-
Prioritize rest. No later than 9 pm, I'm in the bed. I don't worry about what time everybody else goes to bed.
-
Nourish your body and mind. This part I am working on daily. Eating and reading, consuming healthy content as well.
-
Speak to yourself with grace. PURPOSEFULLY! I try to give myself a compliment every day. I do my best to not say ugly things to myself especially about my body. IT IS LISTENING!
-
Relearn the art of joy. I started a new hobby, watercoloring! I'm not great at it but Jia is of course. Watching her paint or draw gives me joy.
When I began focusing on inner balance first, my outer world started to mirror it. My creativity returned, my confidence resurfaced, and Tangles and Beyond found a new rhythm.
4. Redefine What Success Looks Like
After a fall, success can’t look the same. And that’s the point.
In the past, I measured success by hustle, followers, and results. Now, I measure it by peace, purpose, and presence.
Ask yourself:
-
What does success mean to me today?
-
How can I pursue it in a way that feels aligned, not exhausting?
Reinventing your definition of success allows you to move forward on your terms — not by anyone else’s standards.
5. Rise Into the New Version of You
Reinvention is not a one-time event, it’s a continual unfolding.
The new version of you might look different. You might speak differently, dream differently, and prioritize differently. And that’s something to celebrate.
For me, Beyond Balance isn’t just the name of a relaunch. It’s a reminder of this journey. I rebuilt not just my business, but my peace.
You can, too. Start where you are, with what you have, and trust that your next chapter will meet you with open arms.
If you’ve hit rock bottom, I want you to know — you’re not broken. You’re being rebuilt.
Every setback is an invitation to rediscover your strength, reimagine your story, and return to balance.
Here’s to your reinvention, your balance, and the most beautiful version of you — the one that rises again.
