If you are following me on my socials, then you know I am in full lover girl mode. I even decorated for Valentine's Day. This is my first time leaving up my tree and decorating it for the next holiday. Valentine's has become my favorite over the years. And this year, I'm gonna make it extra special for myself. Track 2 of the Bougie Body Playlist is titled My Funny Valentine, inspired by the Chaka Khan rendition, for some 90s nostalgia, but more so meaning. The first time I heard this song, I didn't quite understand the lyrics. I mean, who would say that to someone they loved? Your looks are laughable. Well, damn. But as an adult this is saying I love you despite your flaws. This is all good and well, but I want to love myself more before I can love someone else and their flaws. The question is do I love my own?
This is where this is a love song redirected inward.

Somedays I love her and somedays I literally laugh at her. Some days I cringe at a photograph that shows her bigger than what I feel and see but I she is still a stunning work of art despite all she has gone through.
