Happy New Year, love ✨
I’m easing into this one.
No dramatic reinvention. No pressure to become someone brand new by January 1st. Just a deep breath, a schedule I can actually work with, and gratitude for how the year has already started.
The holidays were really good to me this year. You all showed up in such a big way during Black Friday, and thank you for that. I only made two shipping errors, which honestly feels like a personal win. I stayed home, like really stayed home, and soaked up every second of Jia’s break. Slow mornings. No rushing. No outside noise pulling at me. Exactly what my spirit needed.
I also spent one full day, okay eight full hours, retightening and detoxing her locs. Eight hours. My arms were tired, my back was questioning my life choices, but the end result was worth it. Fresh, clean, and reset, just like the energy I’m carrying into this year.
Somewhere in all of that, I finally found a foam that gives me the look and hold I love without my scalp throwing a tantrum. If you know me, you know that’s a big deal. Of course, all that styling means I’ll be giving myself a protein treatment soon, and that little self care moment turned into something fun.
Surprise. The Strawberry Protein Collection is coming back in February as a throwback. Because sometimes nostalgia is necessary, and because your curls deserve strength and moisture.
February is also bringing a new track in the Bougie Body Playlist. A brand new love song that I’ll be announcing on the 21st. New music, new energy, same intention.
For those of you who have already welcomed Smooth Operator into your routines, I hope you’re feeling this track. I hope you’re spoiling your skin and watching your inner smoothness ooze out. January sets the tone for the rest of the year, and from what I gather, doing the most for yourself is how you come out on top. Smooth Operator will be available through the last day of the month.
Valentine’s Day is, of course, my thing. I’ll be creating a sweet little bundle featuring the Strawberry Protein Collection and Track 2, so stay tuned. I haven’t even taken down my Christmas tree yet. I’ll be decorating it for Valentine’s because the lights are just too soothing to let go of.
As for the whole New Year, New Me thing, nah.
I already set my goals. I’m just continuing the journey.
I’ve been back on my spin bike regularly. She missed me. I’m eating foods that actually love me back. I tried sardines, and now I love them. I’m cutting down on sugar while still treating myself because balance is holy. A little crack will not hurt. Lol.
I’m holding my boundaries tighter with family, with myself, choosing peace when things get chaotic, and making time for my crystal healings to keep my emotions steady. This year is big for business, and emotional stability is non negotiable. I’m protecting my energy like it’s part of the inventory because it truly is my most valuable asset.
Creatively, I’ve also found my love for filming and editing again. I’ve been posting regularly on Beyond the Tangles YouTube and have started back on the Tangles and Beyond YouTube as well. If you’re not following me there yet, I would love to have you.
And speaking of big things.

I have another milestone I’ll be sharing in a few months too.
I do have a bit of hard news, and please do not be mad at me. This decision was not easy, but it was necessary for the growth I’m aiming for this year. The Butterfly Hibiscus purple Collection and the Matcha Green Tea Collection will be retiring, at least for now. They are not keeping pace with my best sellers, and it is time to focus where the energy is strongest.
Speaking of best sellers, the Bougie Body Playlist is back, and our OG scent Goddess will always be available year round. She is currently stocked at Waverly McSwain Beauty and will be arriving very soon at Vitamins Plus.
This year is already off to such a good start, and I’m genuinely excited about what’s unfolding. I’m excited to grow, to heal, to build, and to continue this journey with you. My community, my customers, my people.
