The weekend is almost here. I have rest planned. And that’s about it. Wanted to catch you guys up on what’s been going on with us lately. I keep trying to create for social media and it’s just NOT happening. It's not the same anymore. However, I decided to embrace this blog on my website. Hopefully, to connect and reconnect to more of you. I think I was spending too much time, trying to find new people instead of paying you guys who are already here more attention. So this is me creating that space.
Thank you for so much love on my pumpkinhead's 23 birthday. I'm sure I would be refuted for this but I know the double rainbows we saw that were literally right about our house on his birthday were meant for me.
My Mental Health
Better than usual. It has been a long hard road on this CPG journey. So many things that I didn't know before starting this. I would be lying if I said I haven't thought about giving up. MANY TIMES it crossed my mind. But that part of me, doesn't listen too long and eventually we find our way through. If I'm being honest, I love-hate these lessons the most. Things have to get super bad for me to see the problem through, but once I see it through, the GROWTH IS MAGNANIMOUS! Makes it all worth it.
Another big factor of my mental health is my middle schooler. She is in middle school. Think back to when you were in middle school. (internal cringe) Yeah. And that's all Imma say about that. Please keep me in your prayers.
Shout out to everybody that picked up a SugarMud Scrub! Adding the clays to the scrub was monumental as it aids in cleansing and exfoliating the pores for a deeper clean! If you haven't grabbed one or a Flower Face and Body Bar, get to the store asap! If you got one on the way, please do us a review on the website!
Events Coming Up!
I will be joining Nikkie of BubbleBabez live tonight 7 pm EST/6 pm CST to give you the whole pot of tea on what I have learned now that we are on the shelf. Please join us and you can ask me ANYTHING! Follow @bubblebabez on IG for more info!
We will be demoing at our Jackson Whole Foods Location Saturday, September 28th, IF there is any product on the shelf! I will confirm the closer we get to the date.
Stores Post Launch..
Far as the stores, we had our 6 week post launch and we are doing great! If you haven't heard by now, we are in 74 Whole Foods Markets across the South! You can find the Jia's Caribbean Dreamcream Collection, Butterfly Pea Tea Collection and Matcha Green Tea Collections there! Some stores move product faster than others but it's all moving and that's what counts! Thank you so much for your support! We hope to be in more stores early next year!
Things I'm Working On...
Lately, I've been trying to create more discipline in my life. Making myself do the things I should be doing every day. Julian and I have been walking every day for about 5 weeks now. Kinda proud we haven't missed. Honestly, I look forward to it every morning. It's a get up, pee, put on shorts, tennis shoes and out the door thing every morning. We walk the block around our neighborhood which is only about 18 minutes. But it has been so good for me. I feel more ready for my day and not so cranky, achy and tired. 10/10.
I have given up some of my bad food habits. I've only had one soda in the past 5 weeks and I have limited sugar to one "sweet" thing a day. Still watching how much bread and pasta I do as well but no certain diet and definitely no restricting. I usually make my one "sweet thing" something I truly love. My favorite right now are Almond Windmill Cookies from Trader Joe's. You get those and Trader Joe's Cookie Butter and make a sandwich. The best. All you need is one.
I am currently trying to love myself and my body more and this includes dressing it better. I don't know my style, yet. I know what I like but what I like does not look right on my body type. So I'm looking to love how I dress this body how it looks right now. I will no longer wait til I lose weight. Speaking of losing weight. My little changes have resulted in 8 lbs lost in these last five weeks so, yeah.
Snack I'm Loving Right Now- HOMEMADE KALE CHIPS!
I love to make these just to snack on or eat like seaweed chips with a salmon and rice bowl. Here is the recipe.
1 bunch of organic Lacinato (dinosaur) kale, Cut into large pieces omitting the stem. Sprinkle olive oil all over and massage into kale. Sprinkle seasoning, I like Umami and a touch of sea salt, and massage that all over. Bake on a parchment lined cookie sheet at 325 degrees for 15 minutes. PERFECT crunch. So good for you. Expect green poop.
Anyway, I hope you guys are having a wonderful week, cooler weather and eating the yummiest foods! The store has some items available. We will be starting a PO soon so the site will close down! Get what you can now! As always, thank you!
